Culture Policy for Youth and Children

The main tasks of the cultural policy for youth and children are to:

  • Provide access to high quality professional art to the audience of children and young people on the whole territory of Latvia
  • Promote artistic creativity of children and young people, provide the necessary environment and high quality arrangements
  • Increase high quality cultural education opportunities for children and young people through radio broadcasting, press, television, the Internet
  • Organize conferences and seminars (including international level) in the field of development of creative personalities and in the context of lifelong learning
  • Development of creative, enterprising and humane personality with a high sense of civic duty in the aspect of life-long learning
  • Promote involvement of the educational establishments of cultural education in the process of the Song and Dance Festival, ensure sustainability of tradition of the Song and Dance Festival, as well as research and acquisition of local cultural heritage
  • Provide modern choice of high-quality pedagogical programs in the higher educational establishments of cultural education
  • Extend the range of cultural opportunities in the outdoor/extracurricular pedagogical and educational work, inviting the institutions of culture to provide services and events of cultural education.
