The programme LV04 “CONSERVATION AND REVITALIZATION OF CULTURAL AND NATURAL HERITAGE”, cofinanced by the European Economic Area (EEA) Financial Mechanism
On February 14, 2012 the programme LV04 “Conservation and Revitalization of Cultural and Natural Heritage” draft was certified in the Cabinet of Ministers. After the certification in Latvia, it was sent over to the Financial Mechanism Office in Brussels for a final programme revision by the Donor side, after which on September 10, 2012 the Donors decided on certifying the Programme LV04.
The overall financing available to the Programme is €11 787 647, from which 85% comes from the EEA Financial Mechanism and 15% from the national state budget.
Its main objectives are to protect and to preserve cultural and natural heritage for the next generations, to make it accessible for public and to expand the cultural dialogue thus facilitating the identity of Europe.
The Programme envisages support for establishment and strengthening of cooperation, exchange of experience and ideas, thereby facilitating mobility between the cultural service providers in Latvia and in the Donor states, contributing to the cultural and artistical diversity with the help of intercultural dialogue.
The implementation of the Programme is ensured by the Programme Operator – the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Latvia – in cooperation with the Donor programme partners – the Norwegian Directorate for Cultural Heritage and the Arts Council Norway.
The implementation of projects will end on April 30, 2016.
