To support Ukrainian war refugees arriving in Latvia and promote the most succesful and quickest solution of their lives and integration into Latvian society, from April we offer automatic translation option for Ukrainian on the public administration language technology platform www.Hugo.lv. It is freely available language tool on the web for anyone interested, providing automated translation into Latvian, English, Russian and now also to and from Ukrainian-Latvian.
With www.Hugo.lv you can translate both separate words and longer texts, and documents as well as entire websites. The ability to quickly and easily translate into and from Ukrainian on a translation platform specially adapted for Latvian society and public administration will help Ukrainian people admitted to our country to settle in Latvia faster, complete formalities related to finding accomodation, job, getting healthcare, education and for using other social services. In addition, an easy-to-use translation tool on a smartphone will help in the mutual communication between Ukrainians and Latvians in everyday interactions.
The platform www.Hugo.lv has been created with the support of the European Union, it is managed by Culture Information Systems Centre and the language technology solutions available have been developed by the information technology company “Tilde”.
